Welcome
In 2001, Activated Content developed the industry’s first comprehensive and practical watermarking solution for encoding identifiable, robust, inaudible and unique codes into digital audio. In August 2007, Activated Content announced that it licensed technology developed by the Microsoft Corp. Redmond research lab. This technology, when added to Activated Content’s own IP portfolio, strengthened the company’s position as having best of breed watermarking technology to apply to ad-supported content business models and broader market research applications.

Coming in June 2009
Activated Content, the leader in digital audio watermarking, announces their new Ruby Watermarking System coming soon. Ruby will be the latest in the company’s longstanding pre-release media security offerings. Until now, the best way to deliver music to critics, DJs, radio stations, labels and the masses was to send out CDs to everyone. Ruby, on the other hand, is completely web based with delivery of watermarked album notifications via email followed by secure web based downloads.
Ruby has numerous advantages over sending out CDs, with cost being the most obvious. Producing and sending physical CDs – whether or not they are watermarked – can be an expensive method for distribution. Paying for blank CDs, burning, labeling, packaging and shipping them, makes CD fulfillment pricey. This is truer if you’re using an outside service. One must also take into account the amount of time it takes for your CDs to get to their destination via shipping companies or snail mail. Lastly, how do you know if the people you’re sending your CDs to are actually listening to them?
